(Tuesday, October 1 – New York, NY) – Musician, Composer, Musical Director are only a few among the myriad of talents Alix Goffic possesses and now he is adding Solo Artist to his already impressive resume. Making his official introduction to the world with his debut single “Lanmou” this Hip-Hop-Jazz union is only a testament Alix’s unlimited artistic capabilities.

With a Masters from Berklee College of Music, focused in Contemporary Performance, French Guiana native Alix Goffic is a mastermind at blending his Caribbean roots with his passion for Hip Hop and Jazz. Collaborating with an eclectic group of equally yoked talent, Alix produces “Lanmou,” a clever mashup inspired by Hip Hop intermixed with arioso saxophones and bluesy keys. Today he is premiering his first of many future classics as a solo artist, and you will be everything but disappointed. “Lanmou’s” melodic beat sounds like the soundtrack to your favorite memory; the harmonious, instrumental sextet immediately transcends you to a day where you are basking in joy, filled with love and optimism. “Lanmou” embodies every part of what makes Alix a unique artist; from his heritage, his diverse musical repertoire to his array of musical inspirations; allowing “Lanmou” to lead us to a place filled with peace and tranquility.

“Lanmou means LOVE in French creole. I decided to dedicate my debut single to love and what a better way to say it than in my own native language. This song is my interpretation of love for my country and all the strong ties I have with French Guiana as well as the positive and calming energies this song carries.” – Alix G.

Alix brings a rare commodity to today’s music, he adds a particular flair to this generations sound that cannot be replicated. It isn’t often you find a song like “Lanmou” that is multi-generational; this single is the start to bridging the gap among all music admirers regardless of their preferred genre or age. This is only a taste of what’s to come as Alix gears up to release his next project with bandmates QNASHOUTHOUSE and Reggae band Royal KhaoZ. Be on the lookout for upcoming dates throughout the rest of the year, where you will have a chance to indulge in the Alix Goffic experience.

About Alix Goffic
Alix Goffic is the consummate Caribbean musician. Like the Caribbean itself, he sits at the nexus of American, European, and Pan-African music traditions. Starting drums at the age of 6, Alix grew up immersed in the various regional Caribbean music (zouk, calypso, and reggae) as well as American music (hip hop, R&B, soul). But his hunger for music found him eventually studying under the jazz masters such as the 2009 Smithsonian Legacy Award winning Danillo Perez, and two-time Grammy Award winning John Pattitucci; ultimately attaining a masters from Berklee College of Music. In addition to his drum set expertise, he is also a hip hop producer. This combination of a mastery in jazz and Caribbean/American music makes up the DNA of his unique style of playing, a style that reflects his cultural background. He now resides in New York City, and his work has been featured on international platforms such as The New York Times, NPR, and France Television.
