| The Diggin’ Thru the Crates Hip-Hop Exhibit is a one-of-a-kind, uniquely curated installation highlighting the preservation of hip-hop culture. Attendees have a chance to view, listen, and genuinely experience the origins of hip-hop today by “Diggin Thru” the Connecting Cool Hip Hop Collection: featuring vintage & current vinyl, cassettes, cars, comics, art and media installations.

| The birth of Hip Hop can be traced back to economics. In the 1970’s, teenagers in the NY area developed a form of art centered on self-expression in the absence of resources and cutbacks of arts programs in public schools. In the Diggin’ Thru The Crates Gallery, visitors can explore how this method of self-expression was not only a source of fun but was also a direct reflection of the socioeconomic conditions of the community.
#DTTC is home to original artwork and installations that let visitors experiment with the evolution of Hip Hop by exploring the different eras of Hip Hop’s artistic forms through visual and audio experiences.
The gallery includes record listening stations, original artwork, and classic Hip Hop artifacts and memorabilia that illustrate the origins and evolution of Hip Hop.

- Tickets are $35 and non-transferrable.
