(Friday, September 6th, 2019 – New York, NY) – Resonator Founders, Benjamin Chin and Zaven Embree, are back at it with their third annual Resonator Festival taking place at the well renowned National Sawdust in Brooklyn, NY on Saturday, October 5th. The Resonator Festival hosts a variety of music connoisseurs who savor live music and thrive on artist interactions amidst young entrepreneurs by partnering with local vendors and businesses. This year’s audience can expect a sensory explosion with the lineup’s musical union; giving “mashup” a whole new meaning. The 2019 talent lineup spans across genres bending collaborations including Hip Hop, Rock, R&B, Roots & Culture Reggae, Jazz, Electronic and more. AMYRA, ShoutHouse, QNA, Royal KhaoZ and Wsabi Fox are only a few of the expected acts to grace the stage.
But before all the dancing, laughing and stressing over whether you chose the most comfortable shoes; the Resonator Festival team has curated a 360-degree experience just for the talent. In the weeks leading up to the festival night, performers will have a chance to engage with fellow artists during a series of events – a 5-Day Artist Workshop focusing on the inner workings of the music industry such as, writing, recording, business management etc. Workshops will be hosted at local studios Wonderpark Studios and The Breeding Ground where studio Chief Engineers will provide one-on-one mentorship offering firsthand knowledge and experience to these rising artists. To kick off festival week, the ResFest team will host a private dinner ceremony to welcome all talent. The dinner, catered by Greenhouse Catering, will provide a creative atmosphere aiding camaraderie and musical collaboration all while breaking the ice between performers. This all supports the Resonator Festival overall mission, which is to promote growth and ideation throughout arts & culture.
Essentially, Resonator Festival is a cross between an adult house party and a traditional music festival yet, still suitable for the entire family. With community growth also on the forefront of the Resonator’s mission, various local food vendors such as Grill Masterz of Bbq and Nature’s Bodega will be there to keep you fed as well as interactive merchants providing massages at Pampered by Nikki and live body painting by Nikky Ebanks throughout the day to keep your energy high. In between all the vegan and bbq treats, you’ll have plenty of music to help you burn it all off. Headlining this year’s festival AMYRA; Harlem bred singer/songwriter who has been featured on BBC and TED will be sharing the stage with NYC’s classical hip hop orchestra, ShoutHouse. Their combination of soul, classical, and hip hop is as Culture Trip described, “Incomparable to anything else… experimenting with a whole new form of expression”. Hailing from The Bronx, Royal KhaoZ will be sharing the stage with the jazz fusion band QNA; this combination showcases each bands unique style and versatility; which has attracted the attention of Sway’s Universe and LargeUp. Last but not the least don’t miss out on international act, EARTHTONE , who draws inspiration from London based electronic music such as Grime and 2-step. Paired with the Brooklyn based drumline, MNFST, a combination sure to electrify the evening and ignite your inner rockstar. The rarity of seeing these performances blended in poetic musicality creates a magical yet timeless experience you can only find at Resonator Festival. About Resonator:
A resonator is an amplifier, a space which takes its source, and makes it grow. We at Resonator aim to do just that; with new ideas in music, art and culture. We work to act as a catalyst for growth, to be the puzzle piece which enables innovators in the arts to flourish and their ideas to spread. Through concerts, parties and workshops, our goal is to shine a bright light on the amazing art that is all around us, and sometimes goes unnoticed. Great art deserves the world’s attention and we intend to make sure it does. We will play, sing, dance and laugh together, and by being our authentic, audacious, creative selves, learn together. This is Resonator. Vibrate higher.
