JOHN SPLITHOFF RELEASES NEW SINGLE & MUSIC VIDEO “PROUD”
ON TOUR THIS MONTH

(NEW YORK, NY) September 20, 2019 — With nearly 250 million total streams and widespread acclaim, soul pop artist John Splithoff returns with a brand new single and music video entitled “Proud” today via East West Records.
The cinematic black-and-white video opens with John slinging corporate jargon out of a call center bullpen before his significant other interrupts with an incisive inquiry, “Where were you last night?” His sales spiel turns into the opening lyric, “I just want to be honest with you” as he croons to her over finger-snaps and thick bass. Soon, he’s serenading her in the office before they end up in a motorcycle garage with each of them mouthing his lyrics in a hypnotic conversational crossfire. The track, which was written by John and Scott Harris [Shawn Mendes, The Chainsmokers] and co-produced by John and Aalias [Eminem, Rihanna, DJ Snake], features a robust and raw hook that hits hard as John once again sharpens his signature style.
Of the track, he tells Billboard, “‘Proud’ was born from a personal realization. I’ve found that when people act selfishly in their relationships, being honest with the person you care about is what ultimately shows respect and ownership of being human—inherently imperfect. This song was written at a moment in time when I was feeling immersed in this sort of situation with my flaws and insecurities magnified. The lyrics tell a story using everyday conversation— that back and forth dynamic that we can all relate to.”

John hit the road again earlier this week on a string of East Coast dates. He performs at Ramshead in Annapolis, MD tomorrow, rolls through various major markets, and closes out the run October 3 at Knitting Factory in Brooklyn, NY.  See the full itinerary below. This run follows successes as both a headliner and festival favorite. Not only did he shut down Music Hall of Williamsburg in New York and Park West in Chicago, but he also lit up the stages of Bonnaroo and Lollapalooza in addition to supporting the likes of Andy GrammerMAXQuinn XCII, and Gabrielle Aplin.Last year, John made waves with his Make It Happen EP. His most recent single “Sing To You” clocked 45 million streams and counting and peaked at #8 on Adult Radio.
