ANTHONY HAMILTON WELCOMED AMONG THE NORTH CAROLINA MUSIC HALL OF FAME’S 2017 INDUCTEES

Charlotte Proclaims October 19 as “Anthony Hamilton Day”

(Los Angeles, CA) – Iconic GRAMMY® Award-winning multiplatinum-selling R&B singer, songwriter, and producer Anthony Hamilton was inducted into the North Carolina Music Hall of Fame on Thursday, October 19th.

In addition, the city of Charlotte proclaims October 19 “Anthony Hamilton Day” from here on out, celebrating his incredible legacy and catalog with the ultimate honor.

This induction brings things full circle for the modern soul luminary. A Charlotte native, Hamilton graduated from Harding High School. He went on to release a series of classic albums such as the platinum-certified Comin’ From Where I’m From [2003] and gold Ain’t Nobody Worryin[2005] and The Point of It All [2008]. Among a staggering 17 nominations, he received the 2009 GRAMMY® in the category of “Best Traditional R&B Performance” for “You’ve Got The Love I Need” with the legendary Al Green. He has toured all over the globe and even performed at The White House to honor Ray Charles at the request of President Barack Obama. His most recent record and ninth release, What I’m Feelin’, arrived just last year. Recently, he performed at the 10th annual fundraiser for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital and partnered with Chef’d for a signature series of meal kits.

About the induction, Hamilton commented, “It’s so nice to come home! Charlotte made me who I am, and this is one of the greatest honors I’ve ever received. I’m so blessed, humbled, and thankful to join the other incredible nominees for the ceremony. Thank you to my city and the North Carolina Music Hall of Fame.”
